Description
LOFAR is the LOw Frequency ARray comprising of
54 stations across Europe with the majority
located around Exloo in the Netherlands. This
radio telescope is currently undergoing a major
upgrade including a drastically redesigned
monitoring and control design leveraging (Py)Tango.
In this presentation we show the current state
of this LOFAR2.0 monitoring and control system across
its various layers and technologies including how we
use PyTango. The contents show various interesting
technologies and standards such as OPCUA, gRPC,
Prometheus, and Grafana as well as how these
services are spread across our stations and central
facilities. Next we show our current roadmap and our
envisioned future directions.
